From what i can remember, I started my life staring at the light coming through the window in a room where my mother stashed me to keep me from climbing out of my crib. And then i became old enough to get into other things...like her hair & cereal boxes ( they made great miniature doll houses! ) & pots & pans, esp the ones with shiny glass lids. I graduated to paper dolls 'cause i loved clothes, then later, selling vintage clothes, the ones that were lace or embellished. That evolved in to designing custom wedding & evening gowns,once again with an emphasis on embellishment & beading.All because i love the idea of wearing art rather than hanging it on a wall.

I've reached the conclusion that I am related somehow to the Magpie because i always come back to the shiny bits, the beading, the embroidery,the embellishment 'cause that's what always catches my eye. Light shining through glass, the colors of light shimmering over water, the movement of light ... glass beads are the perfect medium for all of that and jewelry, esp earrings, 'cause they move and throw off color & light. I'm also working on a line of home decor because many of the elements of jewelry making can be incorporated into that as well.And like the Magpie...i bring home all those glittering pieces and stuff them into every corner of my house. They sit on my kitchen table so i can play with them while I'm eating...I've actually come up with some good ideas that way.

I wish i was more organized & less chaotic but this is the shore i've washed up on. Oh look ! Something shiny sticking up through the sand!!
